Maja Petrović and Marko Miljević bring a rich and diverse background to their tango partnership, blending dance, music, and academic excellence. Maja has been dancing since the age of three, with training in contemporary dance, ballet, and Latin and ballroom dances. She also attended music school for ten years, mastering the piano and flute. After studying Spanish and German language and literature at the University of Zagreb, Maja worked as a language teacher and translator, and later at the Center for Art and Media Technology in Karlsruhe.
Marko, initially focused on sports and nearly going pro in basketball, chose to pursue academics, earning a degree in Electrotechnics and Physics from the University of Zagreb. He later obtained a PhD in Nanobiotechnology from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. Together, Maja and Marko began their tango journey in 2002 in Zagreb, where they were part of a small group of enthusiasts. Five years later, they began teaching at the Tango Argentino Zagreb dance school, with early guidance from influential teachers like Pablo Rodríguez and Noelia Hurtado.
Since 2014, Maja and Marko have dedicated themselves to tango professionally, holding workshops and performing across Europe in cities such as Amsterdam, Minsk, Florence, and Lisbon. Their expertise has also taken them to North America, Asia, and Australia, where they continue to share their passion for tango with dancers worldwide.
Currently based in Zagreb, Croatia, Maja and Marko remain active in the global tango community, bringing their combined experience in dance, music, and education to every workshop and performance.
